11/14/2022 0 Comments Tekken 8 reddit![]() Movement isn't as important, characters have more movement based stances, game is simplified by adding a new combo mechanic, moves become more naturally evasive, etc.). DR marked the end of classic Tekken with T6 being the start of more modern, beginner friendly Tekken (e.g. Keep in mind that Tekken 5 was the end of "fast Tekken", namely 8 frame jabs and freeform/ice skating movement. So I wish there actually were distinct meta shifts, like you're alluding to. Also let me also be frank, I fucking hate Tekken 7. T7 can be split into two distinctive games 7.0 and S2, but that discounts the fact that most x.0 games play significantly different from their final xR counter-parts. There hasn't been a meta shift since S1 -> S2 and this is clearly deliberate from Namco. That'd be nice.īut even the smallest most insignificant adjustment to the game can change the meta entirelyīut you're saying that like S4 isn't S3.5 and S3 isn't S2 to nth degree. Improve the graphics a little, improve netcode and lobbies a bunch, balance adjustments all across the board, and maybe a tiny few new characters. On top of that, some hitbox adjustments would be great. I want to see movement get buffed, it's so lackluster in Tekken 7. The Tekken 5 announcer? I mean, for nostalgia's sake maybe, but I feel a new game should have a new announcer if possible, the games should always strive for new things, not retreading old ground. If anything, they should expand on the new characters more. If there's no reason to give the character the move though, it might as well stay off, the game is already bloated as is. It's like asking for Yoshimitsu to be removed.Ĭharacters getting their old moves back is fine, if they're balanced well. The 2Ds and guests don't need to return, and Heihachi and Kazumi are dead so no point, but everyone else is fair game.Īlso, getting rid of Alisa? Why? She's an excellent character who adds her own distinct style to the game. ![]() They each add something unique to the game, and that's excellent. Honestly I feel like a lot of the new characters should return, they're solid additions held back by Tekken 7 being a scaled back experience on launch. How on earth would Baek replace Katarina, they're not even remotely similar?
